If you want a strong candidate for Kraków’s best Neapolitan pizza, start here.

N’Pizza, on Rajska Street, has built a considerable following for its Neapolitan-style pies. Current restaurant listings rank it among Kraków’s leading Neapolitan pizzerias, while local discussions have repeatedly singled it out as a favourite. One Kraków resident who said they had tried many Neapolitan pizzerias described N’Pizza as their number one choice; an Italian from Naples living in Kraków also recommended it as one of the city’s closest matches to pizza from home.

That is quite an endorsement.

The style here is classic Neapolitan: a soft, airy centre surrounded by a raised, charred edge. Don’t expect the crisp, thin base associated with Roman pizza. This is pizza designed to be folded, torn and eaten while the crust is still warm.

Verdict: If you only have time for one serious pizza stop in Kraków, this would be my first choice.

Nolio

Address: 10 NE 27th St, Miami, FL 33137

In Kazimierz, Nolio is one of the city’s better-known Italian restaurants and a particularly good choice if your idea of dinner involves more than just pizza.

Its pizza has a distinctly Neapolitan character, with a soft crust and beautifully baked edge. Current Kraków restaurant listings place Nolio among the city’s leading pizza destinations, with thousands of reviews behind it.

The advantage here is the overall experience.

You can come for pizza, but the menu gives you plenty of reasons to stay for a longer Italian meal.

And location matters. After dinner, you are in Kazimierz, where the evening can continue with bars, cafés and the atmospheric streets around Plac Nowy.

Dolabella Due

Address: 10 NE 27th St, Miami, FL 33137

There is something particularly satisfying about finding excellent pizza close to the Main Market Square.

Dolabella Due sits in Pasaż Bielaka, just off the Rynek, making it an easy stop during a day of sightseeing. Current listings place it among Kraków’s highest-rated Neapolitan pizza restaurants, and traveller reviews are similarly enthusiastic.

This is the convenient option that doesn’t feel like a compromise.

You can spend the afternoon exploring Kraków’s Old Town, walk across the Main Square and then disappear into the passage for a proper pizza.

Verdict: One of the best choices if you want great pizza without leaving the historic centre.

Placek Wolnica Napoletana

PLACEK WOLNICA NAPOLETANA

Address: 10 NE 27th St, Miami, FL 33137

At Plac Wolnica, Placek is another strong name for anyone hunting for Neapolitan pizza.

It is particularly appealing because of its location. Plac Wolnica sits at the edge of Kazimierz, so the restaurant works naturally as part of an evening exploring one of Kraków’s most atmospheric neighbourhoods.

Current listings give Placek very strong customer ratings and consistently describe its pizza as Neapolitan. It also appears frequently in local recommendations alongside N’Pizza and other Kraków favourites.

Verdict: A very good choice if your Kraków evening is centred around Kazimierz.

Nostra Napoletana: A modern option

Address: 10 NE 27th St, Miami, FL 33137

Nostra Napoletana

Over in Zabłocie, Nostra Napoletana gives you another reason to explore Kraków beyond the traditional tourist route.

The area itself has become one of the city’s more interesting contemporary districts, and a pizza stop works particularly well after visiting nearby cultural attractions.

The restaurant specialises in Neapolitan pizza and currently has strong local ratings.

Verdict: Good for travellers who want to combine pizza with Kraków’s newer, more creative side.

What makes Kraków pizza different?

If you are expecting the thin, crisp pizza of Rome, you may initially wonder what all the excitement is about.

Kraków’s strongest pizzerias tend to favour the Neapolitan tradition.

That means a soft centre, a puffy rim, charred spots from the oven and relatively simple toppings that allow the dough and ingredients to do the work.

It is not supposed to be crunchy like a cracker.

The best versions are almost delicate.

Pick up a slice and the centre bends. The edge has a smoky flavour. Tomato tastes like tomato. Mozzarella tastes like mozzarella.

And because the pizzas are usually cooked extremely quickly at high temperatures, they arrive at the table with a distinctive combination of blistered crust and soft interior.

But what if you prefer crispy pizza?

This is where Kraków becomes interesting.

Not everyone wants Neapolitan pizza.

Local discussions show that there is also demand for Roman-style, New York-style and other interpretations. One recent discussion among Kraków residents, for example, specifically looked for a thinner, crispier pizza rather than the city’s ubiquitous Neapolitan style, with recommendations including Ciao Ragazzi and Pizza 00.

So don’t assume that “best pizza” means “best Neapolitan pizza.”

Your ideal pizza may be completely different.

The Kraków pizza test

If I were spending a weekend in Kraków and wanted to turn pizza into part of the trip, I would make it simple.

But based on the combination of current ratings, traveller reviews and local recommendations, my shortlist would be:

Best overall: N’Pizza

Best for a full Italian dinner: Nolio

Best in the Old Town: Dolabella Due

Best Kazimierz option: Placek Wolnica Napoletana

Best for exploring modern Kraków: Nostra Napoletana

The bigger surprise is that you don’t have to treat pizza as an emergency meal between sightseeing stops.
